Not in this case. The chief, 4 additional officers and one spouse indicted. A dispatcher died on the job of an OD, of drugs he apparently removed for the evidence closet.
Part of the Grand Jury's recommendation is that the department be IMMEDIATELY abolished.
This occurred in Hanceville, AL, roughly 75mi from here, by interstate.

Supports my position that in ANY large occupation, Some will be great at it, going above and beyond, Most will be good to average, and there's going to be a small number that give the rest a bad name.
Hanceville qualifies as "Podunk Alabama". I'm not sure what percentage of the total officers the chief and other four officers make, but it's large enough, that the county and other municipalities are having to cover the city after losing those 5
