New Rifle

Post by Diver43 »

I have been planning this one for a while.
Thanks to @Zee and the gang here for helping me decide on accessories and caliber.
We might have to run up to Tennessee again as my father hasn't been well, but its ready for the range.
Me and @Fisheadgib are planning a .308 day soon.

If you’re gonna shoot distance, I recommend a level.

How about a parts list?

Bergara B-14 HMR .308 Winchester
EGW 20 MOA Base w/blue Loctite
Vortex Pro Series Rings (medium)
Vortex Diamondback 6-24x50 First Focal Plane MOA Reticle
Better scope for it planned

I've been lusting after that same rifle for a while now. Great score.

Here in my area, BPS has the best price by 100 or more.
I would rather support the LGS but they wouldn't meet the price even halfway between.

Have you thrown that on a scale?

Actually I did.
Out of the box stated weight is 9.5 lbs
After adding base, rings, scope, 3 rounds in magazine and removing one spacer it weighs 11.2 lbs.

It is not a grab and walk around rifle

I think the shoe salesman disagrees with that assessment. 🤣

That looks nice. I have been putting together a 308 also but mine is not finished. Looking forward to a range report.

Nice looking rifle. A buddy of mine has one in 6.5 Creedmore that he just raves about

Plastic stock and paint? You shoulda bought a real rifle, son! That fancy stock will make it impossible to shoot anywhere other than off the bench or a bipod! The bolt handle's too long and tubular, what's wrong with a regular old ball? And that's the weirdest Weaver rail I've ever seen! And a .308? Why didn't you get a full-size cartridge?
