New lever action

Post by Wambli Ska »

Got this today at a local gun show, wife said I could have it as one of my Father’s Day gifts.

Rossi Model 92 lever action in .44 Magnum stainless. It is the PERFECT complimentary gun to my stainless Old Vaquero also in .44 mag. Somewhere in my garage there is an ammo can full of my .44 Mag reloads that need to be burned up. The leather is an Indian Creek custom belt and cross draw holster.

Literally just got it home! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

BTW gun show prices have improved substantially!!!

I love mine. Have one just like that in .45 Colt and a 24” octagonal in the same chamber. Great guns for a decent price.

They are very nice guns and you’re right, they are a hell of a value! Can’t wait to go play with it tomorrow 👍

The last one I had was a blue .357 and it was a really nice gun. But a young dad, friend of mine that had recently separated from the ARMY needed a decent NC mountain thick woods deer gun on a budget and I sold it to him and gave him about 500 rounds of ammo with it. That should keep him and his 3 young kids in venison for a loooooong time!

I’ve always wanted a stainless .44 mag but I kept hitting all around the bullseye until today.

Straight grip lever guns are the sexiest lever guns.

Welcome to the Lawyerized Gun Strip Club: Take it off! Take it ALL off!!

Really starting to like the idea of these handgun caliber long guns - if nothing else, they're a great way to dispose of the "magnum-level" reloads cooked up in one's younger days when one thought that was a good idea.

And when your primary range is only a hundred yards flat and a hundred eighty uphill, constant consumption of 40-60 grain powder charges begins to seem a little. . .well, maybe not silly. . .
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

Nice find! I've shot Elk creeks and it's a fine rifle. I probably need one in .357 mag for the reasons Bigslug mentioned. Too many magnum reloads that are no longer fun to shoot out of revolvers

These guns are a hoot, and yes they are a fast, non painful way to dispose of a lot of magnum ammo! And yes I like “unlawyerizing” lever guns. If it was not in the original I don’t need it in mine.

Yep. I was going to buy a .357 Uberti ‘73 for that reason but I now have the 9 shot Redhawk that serves the same purpose. I can fire small cannon rounds out of the crew served handgun and they feel like .38s

I have peep sights on all my lever guns, they are a match made in heaven!

Ahem, Wambli. You need a tang, receiver or another form of peep sight on that rig! 🤣

I have a tang and globe sight on my 24” Rossi in 45 Colt. Just because it looks cool. Definitely not a long range endeavor.
