Should hang a couple burger patties down range and have a hot lunch after shooting.

It was supposed to be a “quick” range trip to sight in the Mini-30, but the gun did not like the heavy bullets my brother picked out. So, it will take a bit more investigation to find a round that is more compatible with that gun. It got “better” groups with some of the random old ammo I had in the bag with my PSA KS-47, but it’s still 2.5-3” groups with ammo that’s no longer on the market.

I may see if my hunting loads work in the -30. Testing continues.

However, with the KS-47, I continue to be impressed with the accuracy it is pulling from just random ammo.

The much lamented “silver bear” match ammo that people used to hoard

Yeah that. My dad embarrassed a guy who was sure the m30 was the cats meow. Outshot with an sks and wolf ammo. In a BAD way. The m30 would do 5 MOA groups on a good day.

When I owned a mini 30 the best I ever got was around 3” 100 yard rested groups. That was with some painstaking hand loading to that end.
