Anybody here have any experience with these? I'm in the market for gun storage that I can move up and down stairs with at least less difficulty than hiring a team to move a true, 500# plus safe. I know a motivated thief can break into this thing with just a crow bar, but it's still better security than lining them all up on the wall.

While not a true safe, it is much more than hiding them in a closet or under your bed.
I have been looking at the same one as my safe is overflowing with the addition of inherited guns along with my own.
Was at a Walmart in Alabama that had on on floor display. For its cost and coming in a flat pac I was a little impressed.
For stairs or an apartment situation, first a thief would need to know what you have to bring the right tools, second breaking into it is loud, . Bottom line, don't ket everyone know what you have. It seems more secure than a stack on cabinet and again better than under the bed.

That is interesting. I have a closet that I kinda want to turn into a gun locker, and those may fit. Wish they had mechanical locks, though.

Interesting you’re interested in hiding something in a closet. I figured you’d want something that’s out of the closet.



That’s kind of a neat Idea. I’d be interested if I didn’t already have a safe. One could put it in a closet and place a shoe rack or similar over the top. If they don’t know it’s there, it’s all the…safer.

I was thinking I needed another safe as well. Then a friend passed and I inherited two more. I’m fat with safes now. And they ain’t light!! Holy crap! Takes 3 people to move them.
Plus my gun room.

Your safes don’t need to be bomb proof, they just need to be strong enough to stop someone from grabbing your guns while your alarm is blaring and the police are coming. A good alarm system is better than any safe you can buy.

I use a similar cabinet for firearms I may need to get to right now...I put it in a small closet and bolted it to the studs in the wall. The confined quarters adds to the overall security of the cabinet...also reinforced the hinges and installed a deadbolt lock on the closet door
This way, my guns are under lock and key when we're away from home but right there when we need them

I had one of these gun cabinets. It's 102# compared to 87# for a larger 'safe'.

I drilled out the lock on it with a regular bi-metal holesaw in 15 seconds.

I may buy one. Not just for my extremely meager minimalist gun inventory but all the miscellaneous paperwork and other that needs to be secured. I like the built in model and I like CPJs suggestion of putting some shelves in front maybe even hinge the shelves so they swing out for access.
