Someone mentioned they liked Peter Bromley blades.

Post by Wambli Ska »

Just got one in from eBay. Got a GREAT deal because it was DIRTY, with a few shallow rust spots and stained. Good think I’ve gotten good at restoring things over the years. Kind of become one of my hobbies actually. Guns, knives, leather, pipes etc.

Anyway, here she is. I think the sheath is Armadillo leather and the scales are polished ram.

As usual for his blades this sucker took a shaving edge. I really love his work.

What kind of steel? What is the handle material?

High carbon steel and the handle is polished Rams horn. Sheath looks like Armadillo. Pommel and guard are probably nickel silver, they shined up nicely!

Here’s a listing with short bio and some of his work.

Thanks! It’s basically an old school “cowboy” knife. Very much like the old Shefield knives you’d find out in the frontier in the late 1800s. Not particularly big or heavy bladed, but a lively thing in your hand.

Thanks! He’s a really old school guy. Doesn’t do a lot of modern or copy things like Loveless style. But every knife is one of a kind and his grind is FLAWLESS! I don’t think he’s doing much anymore. That last knife posted for sale on the website is about as modern and simple as I’ve ever seen out of him.

I’ve seen a few of his folders and they are very nice. There was a big Bowie style on eBay for a while that I kept getting close to pulling the trigger on but I don’t need anymore big knives. Thought the damn thing was a work of art.
