Local shop does some in house auctions and I got this for 125 bucks
Anyone else have one? Reviews seem largely favorable.

Thanks all. While it's not winning any beauty contests, I don't consider it ugly. It's not a Glock afterall has a good feel in the hand and a halfway decent trigger, no scale so just a subjective feel. probably be a week or two before I range test it for real.

For $125 you could use it as a wheel chock and not feel bad. It also has all those replacement bits, so if you use it as a hammer you don't have to care if you scuff it up. I am a big fan of multi use purchases.

Along those lines. Once it has enough rounds through it to be trustworthy it will probably become a house gun. If, god forbid it ever gets used as such, it will be no great loss if I never get it back.

How do the controls feel? Mag release, slide release, safety? Can you get a finger on them without changing your grip?

Yes to all. Since Colorado deems a magazine over 15 rds to be evil, I only have one mag so changes won’t be an issue to start. If I end up liking it enough I’ll buy more.

Well took it to the range today, overall impression is favorable. Pleased with how it shot, very pleasant for a compact pistol. Accuracy was decent, better than decent when Andy shot it My old eyes had some problems with the 3 dot arrangement Novak sights, might have to try a fiber optic. Had a few FTF, this may have been due to the reloads I'm not sure. Will pick up some factory ammo and see what happens.

That little pistol will shoot! I like it. For what they are those are cool guns. Decent trigger and controls. Wasn’t a fan of the the 3 dots either but hey it ain’t mine!

Just an update on my update. Took the American to the range again today and 120 rounds of factory ammo feed flawlessly. Improved front sight is in the works thou I did better with it today wearing my proper prescription glasses
