Seasonal Self Defense
Does anyone else have a winter gun and a summer gun?
Re: Seasonal Self Defense
Nope. Carry the same all year. Only thing that changes is my revolver at the ranch sometimes.

Re: Seasonal Self Defense
Not really, but, revolvers get pulled out during hunting seasons and sometimes get carried as clothes get layered

Re: Seasonal Self Defense
I do
Since moving to North Florida we have some cooler winter weather. When it's HOT and im wearing shorts, t shirt and flip flops it's a SW BG 2.0 appendix or in my pocket. Or when cooler Sig P365/Holosun at 3:30.
I rarely get the commander or Other out anymore except for range time. Im thinking about getting a SP101 for road trips in the truck or wife's car.

Nope. Glock 43X is what I carry. Exception would be hunting/woods bumming, then I’ve got my 19 clone. Mainly because it has a light attached. If I had a light bearing holster for the 43x, I’d be toting that.

Nope. I actually have tried to go with lighter guns like the Kahr but when I strap it on I feel underdressed (like I’m leaving capabilities on my night stand) and the 48 MOS is really no less concealable than anything else I own.
Re: Seasonal Self Defense
What are these "seasons" of which you speak?
Short answer, no.

Same set-up year round....Either a 1911 or Ruger LCR depending on where I'm going or what I'm doing...

Yes. I have been carrying an cut down 43x the last part of the summer, and will be switching to the 48 as the Fall gets cooler.

When I wear T-shirts, I often carry the MC-9. When I wear hoodies I carry one of the two CZs.

Only on walks when I can wear a flannel. I can carry my XD40 Competition OWB. I do need a different holster so I don't have to remove the Streamlight.

Re: Seasonal Self Defense
Nope. Glock 19 with RMR all year, unless a particular situation dictates something odd. I do fully intend to jump to a G48 MOS with one of the closed emitter Vortex optics this year though.

Bravo concealment. Inexpensive, damn good quality. Midget shoe salesman approved.

Re: Seasonal Self Defense
Is it true that folks in Florida really had to dress around their carry a few years ago because you could get in some trouble if your firearm printed through your clothing?
Re: Seasonal Self Defense
Printed? No, however it used to be brandishing if say for instance if at Agent Orange and reach for something on the top shelf and they see your gun.Justsomedude wrote: ↑Thu Oct 02, 2025 7:28 pm Is it true that folks in Florida really had to dress around their carry a few years ago because you could get in some trouble if your firearm printed through your clothing?
