.223 Wylde

Post by Rugerfan »

Is this chambering any different than .223 or 5.56?

In an AR anyway.

It's a hybrid chambering. A little tighter in the body than a true 5.56, but the throat is longer, meaning it's still safe to use 5.56 ammo in.

They claim it has better potential accuracy than a full 5.56 chamber.

Here's a decent explanation

This is why I was asking. My son saw this website mentioned on Reddit.

You're welcome.
Hope it works out for you, if you do get one.

That just seems awfully cheap for an AR. To the point it makes me almost scared of it

I wasn't going to rain on your parade, but that thought did cross my mind as well

Standard 5.56 chamber but a company with at least some reputation. I have 3 uppers and no complaints.

I built a .223 Wylde AR. It's a shooter, but I can't say with any confidence that the Wylde chambering has anything to do with it.

THIS.

And double THIS since it’s a side charger. Yes you lose the no tool disassembly aspect, but it’s worth it to me to have the charging handle in the correct spot.

I’ve got a bear creek side charger upper. Have no complaints.

Thanks for the BCA link. I know several have mentioned them before. That means something to me.

I also ordered a long boi heavy barrel from them. Very quick testing says it’s a heck of a shooter.

I also have a couple of BCA uppers, and absolutely ZERO complaints. There is a lot of hate spewed toward them online, but in my experience and in the experience of people I trust (and Chris), they are good to go.

Actually I think the market might be a bit flooded right now. I’m very seen some PSA stuff for about the same if you buy lowers and uppers separate.
