I'd like to introduce my newest Great Grandson, Bennett Scott Sullivan...being held in the arms of my middle son, his Grandfather, Zachary Scott, Sullivan

Congrats!
I've always wondered though, do you grand/great grandparents ever step back at the family get togethers, look around and think, "Jesus, look at all that I've done!"

Since mine are, technically, all "steps", I don't.
I don't treat them as steps, and only the eldest ever saw me when I wasn't married to their Granny. She was at our wedding @ 5 months, 12 days old.

Needless to say, she doesn't remember it

Have to admit that there is a hint of perceived immortality attached to seeing a few generations under you. Nothing to do with anything but a quiet sense of achievement and just love for them as well as relief that they are OK and will do well once you pass on.

Congratulations Jayhawker.

Two of my three brothers have died in the last few years...the third one is staring death in the face and he's going to blink before too long...I'm going to be the last if my generation before too long...I'm never more content when I get my children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren in one place and see with my own eyes that the line if my family doesn't end with me...
