Brought the boys to the range...guess you could call them young men now
Youngest is 18 now.
We don't shoot shotguns all that much.
Figured it be nice to just ventilate some cans.
So took a 410 bolt with full choke.....yeah it was as fun as ever.
Took the lever 22
Tested it beforehand and was feeding ejecting live shells perfectly.
It's still a problem child.....lol
Still doesn't want to eject fired ones.
Took it out of the stock.
Sprayed it down with brake clean
Lubed it and reassembled.
So it's in we'll see mode again.
The extractor seems fine and it feels like the bolt is snapping in better.
Took the remington automatic in 35 remington
That was a big hit for both of them.
It really shined today....it didn't miss it's mark at all.
Oh and the colt lightning 44-40
Their first time with it.
Funky gun....some days it on.....some it's off
It could be very ammunition sensitive as I don't shoot it often enough to pay attention to what ammo actually shoots good.

Oh that’s too cool!! That will go on the shelf of very cool things. With my great Granddads Damascus Batavia hammerless 12 ga, the parfleche Sioux rawhide box, my SASS tin cup, Cache la Poudre rifleworks sign and many other cool treasures.

Love ALL your guns. Particularly in love with that Colt since personally finding out I'm a 44-40 fan boy! One of those is in my bucket list, probably will be an Italian clone.
Your youngest is 18?!?!?!?!?!?!? Damn!!! last time I saw him he came up to my waist. DAMN!!!!!!

He's over 6' now....lol
He surprises me sometimes
I asked if he'd shoot a deer and he said yes.
That was a total surprise so hopefully I'll get him set to go out this year.

Sounds like a fun day! I had the same issues with my M57. Replaced the extractors, ejector and firing pin, main spring. Not a fun job, and it still has issues sometimes. Jack First has lots of parts!!

Dang, that is a cool range day, I can only claim to have shot the bolt .410. Get the kiddo on a big buck!

I'm still at the analytical phase.
Good to know parts are available for sure.
It just seems so close to running flawlessly I'm not sure if it needs any.....yet
The Firing pin strikes are great.
It cycles right through unfired rounds and tosses them nicely
The hangup would seem to be one of the ejectors but it's so close that maybe the brake cleaner got rid of or loosened some buildup inhibiting them.

Of course, I love the .35 Rem. Don’t know what it is about the .35 cal but I just love it. All of them.JunkCollector wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2026 7:55 pmThanks
A bit different than our normal load out.
Big surprise was the 35 remington
Youngest loved it.
He's generally not much on recoil and it is a mule.
Thought it would be one and done

It’s a short, stout cartridge that just gets it done…. Kinda like some shoe salesmen we know…Zee wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2026 7:59 pmOf course, I love the .35 Rem. Don’t know what it is about the .35 cal but I just love it. All of them.JunkCollector wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2026 7:55 pmThanks
