I hadn't heard about this.
I read the article and I'm still not sure I understand?

I read something about it the other day.

I don’t really understand what Beretta’s intentions are. The article I read said Beretta wasn’t happy with how the company has been run. Said it was underperforming.

Why should Beretta care?

True.

We’ve let most of our ammo mfg be bought by a Czech firm. What does it matter if one of our gun mfg becomes foreign owned

Beretta bought a 30% stake in Ruger…
They didn’t on the sly but they bought a large part of the company’s stock…. Stockholders rule

I guess Jefferson and Co. should have written in:

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

I read some speculation that Beretta wants to get ahold of the Casting division of Ruger (Pine Tree something or other?) that is really the core of Ruger's business. I would imagine that Beretta owning a casting company that creates parts for almost every gun manufacturer (including- I think- some of Beretta's subsidiaries) would be a HUGE win for them in the supply chain.
