What time is it? 625 JM standard time.

Post by Elk Creek »

While I was doing paperwork for the 32-20 Low wall I had to wait, so naturally I was scanning the cases. Then I spot a tag 625-8JM! Wait that’s a 45 acp! Me being me asked to see it and sure enough I had to have it. A week in purgatory, a trip to see Dan and it was a done deal. I did get to shoot it before I bought it, shoots good. 6 rounds 10 yards double action. That single action is SA-wheat! I need to stop going to gun stores.

You notice in the shooting picture I shot it without moon clips with my reloads.

That has to be a lot of fun to shoot.

I think my moon clip loader is from the same place. I doubt you will really need to worry about the moon clips in any book safe .45 load though.

There is a wonderful satisfaction in the metallic “thunk” when a moon clip slides home.

Not nearly so wonderful as the "thunk" of UPS dropping off a box of Starline .45 Auto Rim brass so you no longer have to fudge with the damned things!
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

I scratched the .45 ACP revolver itch with a CA Bulldog and Ruger Redhawk. And was gravely underwhelmed.
Nice gun, though. As usual.

The Charter Arms is hardly the standard to measure all handguns against. I had one that was mechanical disaster….to the point they gave me a new one, it was sold.

Completely agree. So, what about the Ruger? 😁

Dude. I’m messing with you. I love all guns that serve a purpose and make you smile. Shoot. Smile. Enjoy.

Auto round in a revolver are stupid. But, they make you smile. 😊

Every now and then Ruger just makes a disaster…. QA isn’t what it once was. Cheaper to have an adequate service department than a good QA department.

I wont argue against that statement.

I have two Rugers that "require" the use of moon clips. They function just fine without them. It would be amusing if someone offered a 10mm Auto Rim case though.

That would be cool! I emailed Ruger years back suggesting they make a 41 Ruger special. A 38special length shooting 180’s and 200’s a moderate velocity. They obviously haven’t acted yet. That in a lcr would be awesome
