What YouTube Channels Are Everyone Watching These Days?

Post by shotgunshooter3 »

Title says it all, are there any YouTube channels getting your repeat viewership?

For me:

Ali Awada - Fantastic Jurassic Park fan fiction, if you're into that sort of thing (arguably better Jurassic Park genre content than some of the recent films).

Simple Flying - Daily aviation industry updates.

MyLayoverLife - Niche viewership for sure, but these are very well produced videos of various layover trips from a United pilot. More interesting than it sounds.

Ben Stoeger - The man is a bit of a pot stirrer to say the least, and he does some drama oriented videos you can just skip, but he semi-regularly drops kernels of shooting wisdom and a few videos of entire USPSA oriented classes

Joel Park - Daily shooting tips, sometimes great, sometimes less so

Watches of Espionage - Another niche one, but a fun watch-nerd channel, especially if you have a background in the military or national security
"Speed is the economy of motion" - Scott Jedlinski

Matt's Rescues. It's amazing the crap folks get into trying to get away from crowds in highly unsuitable vehicles. AND you learn a lot about 4 Wheeling rescue techniques and things to stay away from, AND learn about new trail that I might want to try in the future

I also watch videos from boot makers, something about a guy building or re-building a par of White's, Nicks or similar is soothing and I'm a big fan of good boots...

I've tried to get into gun/shooting videos but to many of them I end up yelling at the TV so nahhh.

A lot of how-to channels in general, lately RC stuff but for the most part household repairs/improvement shows.

I don't think I've failed to view an episode of Othias Griffud's C&Rsenal / www.oldgunshow.com . DEEP dives into the historical development of mostly military firearms. How he gets a new one out on a two week timetable is mystifying to me.

Beyond that, not following anything regularly. The AI bots seem to present enough clickbait - - lately WWII aviation - -to keep me amused.
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

Some of the channels I subscribe to;

Shooting channels;
Texas Plinking
Mark Novak
Ultimate Reloader
Erik Cortina
Banana Ballistics

Automotive channels;
The No Way Guy
99 Projects
David Freiburger
Finnegans Garage
Vice Grip Garage
Vintage Harleys Revived

Machinists channels;
Abomb79
This Old Tony
Jim’s Automotive Machine

I watch videos from several other channels that I don’t subscribe to. La Perla Ranch, Meat Church BBQ, ArnieTex, Weld.com, C.W. Lemoine and others I don’t recall right now. I also still watch some of the old Motortrend shows that were discontinued a while back. Enginemasters, Roadkill, Roadkill Garage.

I started watching a channel by a guy running an excavator and got hooked: Letsdig 18. Then I started watching another channel: Dirt Perfect. And because of him I started watching a channel C&C Equipment. They buy, sell and work on heavy equipment.

Another channel I’ve started watching is Mr. Hewes. He’s in England. He gets old military equipment: tanks, tank retrievers, etc and gets them back to running.

I also like Jay Leno’s Garage

2A stuff I watch guns and gadgets, VSO gun channel, and Washington gun law. The last one is excellent. Done by a lawyer, gives facts, lets you decide. He’s obviously on our side, but doesn’t go full retard right wing wack job like a lot of YouTube gun channels.

If you like music it’s worth it to watch Rick Beatto. His “ what makes this song great” series is amazing. He breaks down songs and plays each instrument separately so that you can hear the intricacies of bass, guitar, drums, etc. and he’s easy to listen to.

About the only gun content, I will watch is Brandon Herrera. And it’s not that his stuff is all that great, it’s the fact that he has a very second and dark sense of humor. Most gun channels on YouTube suck ass I cannot stand Kentucky, ballistics, Gair-und thumb, or most other others of that ilk.

Steve Morris is an engine builder I watch. Builds engines that cost more than new trucks. Drag and drive engines, where dudes will drive 250 miles to a track, click off a 6 second 1/4 mile and drive 250 to the next.

Cletus McFarland because he does cool poop with cars.

Most of them I “watch” while driving. Because most of them are just a talking head, basically a podcast.

I also like the civil rights lawyer. He showcases POS cops who think they are above the law. Makes them famous.

Mr. Ballen, was/is a Navy SEAL and amazing storyteller.

Farmcraft101, I never thought a random guy with a farm who works his way through repairs would be as addicting as it is.

Used to watch Abom79 until he sold out. Now he lost the feel that his channel used ro have.

Blondihacks was entertaining until she decided that anything, even helpful advice was mean criticism, so I stopped watching.

Project Farm, does reviews that you didn't know you needed but you do.

The Why Files. Hard to explain, weird and unusual stories and conspiracies but he gives the facts after the subject topic.

The Bearded Mechanic, the guy is a motorcycle mechanic in Pennsylvania. Super nice guy that knows his stuff and loves bikes or things with engines.

ThisOldTony, but he hardly posts much anymore. Greatest dad jokes a machinist could ever make and overall good channel for learning.

Inheritance Machining. Another hobby machinist but he does good work and makes great videos.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch more.

four boxes diner. Mark Smith, a constitutional lawyer on 2a and related. Nerdy, gives you the nuts and bolts of why stuff is good and not so good and how it works together.

WA gun law. Lots of info, a wee bit rose covered glasses, but is honest about it

Agro Squirrel Narrates, Human narrated fiction. Cant stand any of the AI ones. There are some talented unpublished folks out ther, and some not so much:)

Money guy shows,

Angry Cops, Habitual Linecrosser..

It does suck that This Old Tony doesn’t post much any more. Really enjoy his stuff and humor.

Same with Mark Novak. Absolutely check him out. Rarely posts anything. But he’s got a lot of stuff worth watching on his page if you’re into gunsmithing. I like his wit and sense of humor as well.

I also watch Project Farm. That channel has cost me a lot of money…

Steve Morris knows his stuff. Obviously. Street cars running mid 5s in the quarter.

Check out Finnegan. Used to work at Motortrend, does drag and drives with a 55 chevy gasser, blown Hemi. Just blew the Hemi up at sick week. Building a Cadillac drag and drive car. And his drag boats are insane. He’s done some videos with Cletus McFarland.

Speaking of Cletus, he’s racing NASCAR now.

I also like watching Midwest Safety. Cop bodycam footage. And another one I can’t recall the name of that shows high speed police chases. FYI, don’t run from Arkansas or Georgia state popo. They’ll PIT your ass.

Mark Novak blocked me. He did a noticeably shoddy job threading a Mosin and lied about indicating the barrel. It was OBVIOUS. I was even nice about how i presented the question. He was immediately defensive and turned into a dìck. I dont watch him anymore.

I watch Rick Beato occasionally. I just saved his interview with David Gilmor that he did in Gilmor’s studio to watch later.
