The Field Ethos collaboration guns are all pretty cool, this is no exception. i wonder if I could cobble together a poor man's version with a Blackhawk...

I guess the red dot negates the need for a long sight radius on longer shots. What would you say the effective range of something like this would be for you? Asking specifically to you knowing that it is VERY different from one person to another and assuming great accuracy it's all dependent on shooter capabilities.

Do I like it? Why yes, yes I do.

Do I $6,000 like it? No sir, no how, no way.

It'll be the next thing I purchase after my Rolex Submariner (after I hit the lottery)

You can pretty much ignore the Field Ethos store and collaborations for the price (though someday I may cave on their interpretation of the "working man's .375 HH"). Their whole model is as an "aspirational" brand.

With that said, most people here would thoroughly enjoy the writing in their magazines. Well worth the quarterly subscription.

I don’t know what it’s chambered in. But, assuming .44 Mag or above, I’d be fine with 100yrds from a good rest and load. Accuracy could allow more. But, with a red dot, I’d be ok at 100-125ish. Assuming a 2 MOA dot.

I enjoy the magazine. And the guns I’ll never afford. Or the hunts. Kinda like Sports Afield. I can dream, can’t I?!?

About what I thought. As CPJ Mentioned it's chambered in .454 Casull so a rather capable round.
Thanks

If the accuracy was there with a 2 MOA dot, I’d have no problem shooting 150 on game.

The FE forum is mildly interesting, definitely trying to sell stuff I don't need at prices I can't afford, but, there are some interesting folks that like guns and hunt on there, so, I am sticking it out until fall and see how the cool kids do with their tags. The magazine articles are great little mental breaks during the day and the Q&A's they do on some days can be amusing.
You guys are way cooler 8-)

I like it, but I dont get the price justification. Even if some guy sat there and hand filed it painstakingly from a one piece billet, they'd still be hard pressed to ask that price. I dont get it.

Yeah that’s pricey. It’s a $1500 gun with a $700 optic.

But, the reason they charge that much is because someone is paying that much.

ABOUT DAMN TIME!

This is the first example of usable backup iron sights I've seen with a red-dotted revolver. The ACRO is a pretty good optic choice for that, basically being a Picatinny (ish) cross slot mount - no teeny holes or wimpy screws needed to hold your sight on.

Now if we can get that on a GP-100 or Mountain Gun - yeah, I'd play.
WWJMBD?

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

If something like this was available in a GP-100 and for not too much of a premium over the sum of its parts, I would have it on layaway already.
