That is a much better way of looking at it. My industry does a LOT of good worldwide. And BTW the amount of money we donate to actually GOOD causes does make a difference. We have a program in which employees can directly make small loans to small business startups in places like Africa and such. It's a direct transfer of money between the employee to very poor people wanting to start their own businesses like a local bakery or a small shop. The funds are guaranteed by the company back to us and the results are freaking impressive. I LOVE my company and were are certainly not the soulless entity the ignorant make us out to be.Justsomedude wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2026 7:59 pmI didnt mean "take advantage" in a bad way. I probably could have worded it better. More like "take the opportunity. "Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2026 7:07 pm What makes something bad or good is just the intent of the human using it.
And just a small correction, I am not taking advantage of an industry. While some are sitting around badmouthing technology based on some Neanderthal leftover DNA in their brain we run a contract with a company monitoring and proactively managing hundreds of thousands of advanced pacemakers worldwide so these folks don’t just suddenly die while having dinner with their kids. What we do MAKES a difference and that’s one of the main reasons for un-retiring myself is that I feel I can do more.

I like it! You never explained what you did before! Now that's the kind of tech I can live with, literally!Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2026 7:07 pm What makes something bad or good is just the intent of the human using it.

I'm not afraid of technology, I only embrace the technology I need. My SIL has a master's degree in cyber security. Being newly immigrated from Finland he has not had an easy time landing a job but he's trying. I wish I knew something about it so I could understand better. All I know is he's one of the good guys.

I don't blame them, their souls have been eaten by an evil beyond their comprehension or ability to resist, regardless of what the "Big Man on Campus" with his well tuned derisive ad-hominum remarks may say. The whole thing was designed that way - don't believe me? Do some research. See what the creators of the various sectors of the tech industry have to say about their creations. See if they allow their children to use them. There's PLENTY of information out there. The soulless tech industry (as a whole) has no ethics, morality, or conscience. It has nothing REAL to give, it can only take and destroy. Oh, its SO wonderful, it saved these many lives, etc, etc - but how many more lives were ruined by it? How many cultures were destroyed by it? Yes, my trip to Egypt was an eye opener in many ways, both spiritually as well as a vastly increased awareness of the false path of tech. The price it demands is too high for the benefits it purports to deliver. Trust me, I've heard it ALL over my career, and the end result was NEVER the "pie in the sky" the dazzled acolytes always promised. I utterly reject it and refuse to surrender my humanity to it. When you see a culture that has yet to be completely destroyed by this monstrosity, you tend to take notice. I know EXACTLY what this is, what its objectives are, what is behind it and why. My dislike of the crippled gadget which is the smartphone has hitherto been rather simplistic. This is WAAAY bigger than the smartphone which is only a small cog. An important cog as its the main gateway worldwide, but small compared to the whole.Justsomedude wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2026 3:11 am I just think you should blame the weak people that are allowing their life to be consumed by likes, shares, views, etc...
Do your research! I have spoken.

And I’m sure you’ll be regurgitating that same nonsense here again and again and again and again and again as you have for years now…. and somehow believe anyone really cares about what you’re saying, at all.
Knock yourself out dude, I’m back to tuning you out again. But in any case as I said before, your use of the derisive “effete” coming from a guy in high heels, makeup, skirt etc makes me roll on the floor, so there is that. Thanks
But you MIGHt want to find another insulting word that “sounds” smart for your next round of useless noise. That’s REALLY the wrong one to come from you.

And as a final AI point before I unhitch the wagon from this thread... Folks with STRONG opinions should educate themselves before opening their mouths, especially to insult others. As the old saying goes,, better to shut up and appear dumb, than to open your mouth and confirm it for everyone.
What most folks think of as AI is the answers they get from a generic agent on google or their $6/moth subscription to Grok that allows them to make up a picture of their favorite celebrity naked. Corporate level AI is a completely different animal and taylored to the needs of the user, as in I get my own AI assistant that I get to design and program to MY needs. Think of it as Janet in the TV series "The Good Place", BTW a must watch, it was a great show!!!!!
Recent example: I told my personal AI agent at work to gather ALL emails in my inbox box pertaining to a big project I’m working on, give me an executive summary of status of the project, and all outstanding deliverables by stakeholder (who's on time and who owes me stuff), and then build a spreadsheet with all costs associated with the project and a 3 page PowerPoint presentation targeting the Senior Management team in MY company as an audience. That's about a day’s+ worth of work normally. It took 3 minutes….
After I was done tweaking what I got (MAYBE another 20 mins) I spent the rest of the day at my daughters house playing with my granddaughter because I was done for the day. You think there is ANY chance I'm willing to give this up?!?!? So if someone thinks I'm some sort of "devil" for espousing technology that they do NOT even BEGIN to understand? My answer is
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Oh one more. Just saw this live on the news. Grubhub is now delivering food via drone. I might convert out kitchen into a reloading room
Re: You ever read something from a supposed "expert"...
You just can't help yourself. You have absolutely ZERO valid response - so you resort to insults and derisive ad hominum attacks. That's all you can do, as you have no actual rebuttal. This is "debate 101" stuff that everyone - except you - knows. So I would suggest you take your own advice because you're simply making yourself look bad. I don't really give a damn what you think about my belly dance, skirts, heels, etc - what does THAT have to do with the topic at hand? Nothing. Zip. Zero. Which is why I've never bought into your "Big Man on Campus" persona - I've met others in my day.Wambli Ska wrote: ↑Fri Apr 10, 2026 5:13 am And I’m sure you’ll be regurgitating that same nonsense here again and again and again and again and again as you have for years now…. and somehow believe anyone really cares about what you’re saying, at all.

With relation to technology, I now know EXACTLY what you are and what you're becoming, I've gotten QUITE the education over the last several weeks. Enjoy your biological implants you'll be bragging about soon enough. That's the next step this technological horror is bringing - thank you Elon! Just my opinion of course.
Oh, and this is the THIRD response I've written to you after you stated you weren't going to engage with me - but again, you just can't help yourself. Derision is your middle name. I could say similar things back, but that would be pointless and lowering myself to your level. So I suggest you actually keep your promise this time and can the derision and even sneering as you're not impressing anyone except yourself.
