A couple of turkeys with a couple of jakes. Young, dumb birds. Any turkey is a trophy, if it’s legal it’s dinner.

Well not the TRIP, but the aftermath of buying stuff you were enabled into buying.

So, a thought on the “cost of the trip…”. Look at CPJ’s awesome b&w pic of all of us with our rifles and tripods above… I’m not gonna say my guess on how much that stuff cost. But every bit of it was enabled…. And it’s freakin awesome!
I missed this earlier. Yes. Pigfest, or any other time Jackasses come down……..is an equal opportunity enablement. Guys bring new toys or ideas and the next thing you know, we are all costing each other money.
This is where we try new things, share ideas, hold each others beers and say watch this. Test, design, experiment. Grow. Learn, enjoy.
It’s an amazing time with amazing dudes and everyone contributes to the education and money spending of the others.

Couldn’t ask for a better group of friends.

I have been remiss!! I forgot to post on a partial Jackass hunt!
Joe and Chris came down for axis and pigs. Joe missed Pigfest 2026 for family reason. So, he came down to make up for it and smuggled CPJ past Customs to get him into Texas without my knowing.
So, in a whirlwind weekend, we shot Axis, pigs, yotes, and fixed a Portacool, built a PRC shooting barricade, ate food, had fun, and solved all the worlds problem.
I have great friends.

Went up to the farm saturday to help the owners draft cattle. Went for a walk with the 243.
Saw a group of 4 bucks and spikers about 500m away so stalked in closer. Got to within 200m and took the shot.

Neck shot....exactly where I aimed. ( No meatwaster trophy for this boy!) Bh watched.... :lol: Crumpled DRT and rolled down the hill into the scrub.
T3x in 243 Topped by a Leica Amplus 6 3.5-15x50
Factory Remington 80gr psp
DPT suppressor.

Interesting thing about this load....
I Zeroed it at 100m about 4 years ago ....then shot it at 200m. Was surprised to find it shot to the same POI!!! Figured it was still rising at 100 and starting to drop at 200... Checked it 3 -4 times since and the poi is within 1/4 Inch.
Went and bought the shops stock of that batch of ammo ( about 300rds). Still have about 180 left.

Its hanging in the chiller with the hide on.....intend to carefully skin it and have the hide tanned...

Thanks. That is the exit hole in the pic btw.. At the shot, both sets of legs crumpled and it dropped like a stone then rolled down the hill into the scrub.
