at a little prayer for me

Post by Freezer »

They are trying to make me the bionic man. I've had both knees replaced, four shoulder surgeries and now I'm having my left ankle replaced. I go for surgery tomorrow. I'll have a cast for three weeks and 8 weeks on crutches before I can begin PT. I should be recovered before archery and early goose season.

Thanks guys

I sure hope things go better than the last ankle surgery!

Thanks guys

Prayers from us. I’ve had one hip replaced, and have a bunch of titanium and stainless hardware holding my lumbar spine together.

Resistance is futile…

Just Prayed the surgery is boringly routine and very successful

Thanks guys! Im home, the ankle replacement well. I spent one night in the hospital and I'm glad I did. This hurts! This morning I was having a 9 out of 10 on the pain scale. The Oxycodone has settled that down and I will settle into a routine for a few days. I'll be off that stuff as soon as my pain level permits. I must say the hospital staff was great and the food, though institutional wasn't bad.

I had injured my ankle eight years ago when a ladder slid from under me. Last October a surgeon tried to clean up the damage and caused more damage, cutting a tendon and damaging a nerve. This surgeon specializes in ankle replacements so I feel very confident. He pinned my 2nd toe in place and repaired the damaged nerve. I have 8 weeks with a cast and boot then PT. I'm ready for this journey and I'm glad I'm getting it done now and not a couple years from now. As soon as i'm healed tis surgeon will remove a growth, neuroma, from between my third and fourth foes on my right foot. That's a two week recovery. He injected it with a steroid to eliminate the pain while I only use my right foot. I will be a lot more comfortable this hunting season!

Thanks again for the prayers.

Glad you came out the other end well. We'll keep the prayers going for a swift recovery. That sucks about the other doctor making things worse, hope you sued the crap out of him.

Thanks for the prayers! My recovery is progressing well. I have very little pain now and haven't used pain meds since Friday morning. The anesthesiologist injected a long term nerve block that lasts up to five days, this is the fifth. If I could just get my bowels back to normal I would be hystatic.

Good to hear you are on the mend.
I had a nerve block and while things woke up it tingled but no excruciating pain. Hoping you continue to heal

"Let's get to the point

Pretty sure that wasn't what Tom Petty meant with those lyrics, but they fit!

Hope your duct-taping holds.
