As requested...Shooting Bench Pics

Post by Jayhawker »

Got this from my FIL some years ago, he got it from Cabelas...I think...possibly Gander Mountain

Very stable once you get your sandbags and butt on it

That is pretty cool.

That is definitely cool. Was this plans from the interwebs or an original idea?

This cause me to fire up the googler.

I have an OLLLD black and decker workmate portable workbench I’ve slapped a plywood top on. It’s meh.

Been pondering a new set up.

This has me curious.

I am about as particular as you can get when it comes to bench stability. I DETEST wobble or vibration in a bench!!!

Love the portable concept of this bench. With begs the question……how stable is it?

It looks like it may convert to either right or left hand by turning the top over? That piece is just damn cool!
For those of us without land for a permanent installation the idea of a nice bench that breaks down and is portable is a definite winner.

Quite stable as it sits...becomes even more so when you get some weight on it...rifle, sandbags your butt, etc...
I have used it to zero and confirm zero on most all my rifles...no complaints...

I found it! I' not great with the computer but this should work. I can't get too far right now because my printer is down.

Thank you Freezer
Was going to buy a couple sheets of plywood this week to prototype one based on Jayhawkers photos. Now I just need one since we have the dimensions.

I’m pretty seriously considering one like I posted above. I checked out this sawhorse at the Hazard Fart last night. Pretty skookum. And will be lighter than an entire sheet of plywood. And adjustable for height and uneven ground. Will need a separate stool, but I prefer that anyway.

Proper handed pic. I do dig this. I like the idea of the plywood, but it’s a while sheet of plywood. And it has to be assembled.
This style…..you unfold the legs.
Someone should teach these people about chamfers or filets, though.

That is simpler and the HF horse folds and the whole thing is 3 pieces less is better Should be a simple exercise to fab a clamp to secure the top.

Lowes has a similar (same but different color, most likely) adjustable horse for $50.
Id not fab any clamp, Id screw through the existing holes in the horse into the plywood.
