I already have my dad’s Browning Hi-Power Ingles that I grew up shooting as a kid. So, I’m set for Hi-Powers. But damn!!!! This one is stupid sexy! Makes me feel kinda funny. Like the rope in gym class.
Even if I got one, it’s too pretty to carry.

4" barrel, better trigger (no mag disconnect) and no hammer bite. I might need to take a closer look.

Oh That is nice and the price isn't bad!

I’m with Zedrick, slick looking rig. That said I won’t own another one I had one that was a 5” at 10 yard group gun. Forget shooting for accuracy at 25. I’m no serious pistolero but I can hold my own. Was told “the gun is within specs when I pushed the issue. It’s gone. Won’t roll with another one.

Yeah, that caught my eye today....

Since I watched the movie Serpico in the 70s I’ve wanted one. But Elk creeks experience put the brakes on that idea for me. If you get one I’d love a comprehensive range report of n this gen gun. That’s one gun that could tip me over the edge. And yes I’d get carried…

Got burned with a cheap Hungarian clone from FEG/KBI purchased in the early '90's that did not work and never could get corrected. Trying to get it corrected got me acquainted with what goes on inside that gun, which pretty well burned me on Hi Powers. It's engineering that inspires a lot of "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???" facepalms.
Unfortunate, because they look and feel amazing, and Springfield's giving it some real execution. I can't warm up to the bobbed barrel version, but damn! Pretty!

I have shot a late model Springfield 5in barrel model. I dont own one. It was quite a few months ago
Mechanically no problems with standard range 115 gr fodder.
I didnt like the trigger but was expecting something 1911 like and its not.
i cant make much of a judgement on the accuracy. My experience was a lot better than 5in at 30ft. I shot less than 50rds. Thats what i remember.

Man, I was just thinking about how I wish I had bought one of the surplus “detective” high powers that were on the market like 15 years ago.. now this is on the market

I’ve handled them at the LGS. Never shot one. While I like their upgrades and mods, it still doesn’t fit my hand.Japhy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2026 4:22 pm I have shot a late model Springfield 5in barrel model. I dont own one. It was quite a few months ago

Well, I mean, it’s made for grown up sized hands. What did you expect?Zee wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2026 2:25 amI’ve handled them at the LGS. Never shot one. For a Few Dollars More
On could have an FN High Power. Yes the spelling is correct
That doesnt buy polished blue
It does bring front strap checkering
Some improvement in dissembling
with decent 9mm ammo a sub 1.5 in @ 25yds
Thats from a G&A test and review

The new High Power is not a P35 and most parts do not interchange, not even the magazines.
I’ve had a SA25 since they came out and it’s a great pistol. I added some Craig Spegel grips and a gold bead front sight, and it’s perfect for me.
