Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
I blame @CPJ 2.0 for that.

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
We should probably blame the OWNER OF THAT GUN for handing CPJ 2.0 a magazine full of .243 ammo to use in a .308.

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
OK, so it was just for the photo. Gottcha
Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
But, it still does not splain why you have a PINK magazine.
Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
Wasnt for the photo. It’s marked so someone doesn’t put the wrong ammo in the wrong gun.

Yes it’s sturdy, yes you will be ruined. And when pig hunting the tripod stays attached to the gun. You just pick it up and go.

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
I thought it would be too heavy for that. AwesomeCPJ 2.0 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 28, 2023 2:00 amYes it’s sturdy, yes you will be ruined. And when pig hunting the tripod stays attached to the gun. You just pick it up and go.
Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
Practice with the gun and tripod if you have time, we were definitely better the second day with it, we did not practice first.

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
What he said.
I have 3 rifles with AICS Chassis. Two of which take the same magazines (.308/.243). Seems in hast, I swapped mags for Chris and Joe by accident. Chris sent a .243 Win round down a .308 barrel.
I learned the errors of my ways and marked the mags obnoxiously so as not to happen again.

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
It’s a high dollar carbon fiber RRS Tripod. Stupid sturdy. Stupid light. Stays attached to the rifle as you move. Just spread the tripod legs, attach the rifle to the ARCA Rail, shoulder the tripod, and walk.

Yeah, y’all got a trial by fire. But you performed.

3rd and final stand of the night.
5min of Baybee Cottontail
2min break
5th min of Eastern Cottontail, she came through the fence into the field. I squeaked to stop her (the scratchy noise on the video as the scopes speaker sucks) and put a .308 Win, 110gr V-Max through her on side shoulder quartering towards @ 50ish yards.

We were after a different buck but he didn’t show up. This one came out and was in the hit list. We waited until last light and the hunter decided to take this buck instead. Bird in the hand….. Hunter used one of my rifles.

8.5 year old Warrior. “One Eyed Jack” (literally has one eye from fighting) had reached his limit. Diminishing in antler and body size. Missing teeth. It was time for him to provide meat and memories. He’d been ostracized from the herd. A management decision that benefited all. Eluded is in the morning but we found him in the evening. Great times and great meat!
