Glad that you can put it to use.Freezer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 08, 2023 9:14 pm Shout out to Driver43! You da man! I got the Lee hand press in the mail today, and I'm elated with it! After doing some chores at my deer blind this morning to find it in my mailbox. I was able to sit in my recliner, watch the Steelers win, and resize 75 pieces of 30-06 brass to 6.5-06. It took much effort than I expected. It really isn't any slower than a single stage bench press. With a towel in my lap and a Lees case trimming system, I'll handle the next steps. I have two hand priming tools so that can be done in my chair also. I may use the kitchen table for charging but seating the bullet can be done in my chair. If you haven't used a lee hand press, you should consider it, they're not bad!

Nice! The hardest ones I have done is resizing 45-70- never thought of forming brass on it.

Been there done that and 450 Marlin, those long thick cases are a pain.
I was so excited to get reloading, I went to my shed this morning and dug through my two totes with my reloading gear. I have Lyman and Forester case trimmers and a number of Lee sizing posts. Alas, no 6.5 alignment pins or alignment Lee posts of 6.5 Creedmoor or 6.5-06. I ordered the 6.5 alignment pins and Lee posts for the 6.5 Creedmoor (My wife's rifle) and the 6.5-06. It will be next weekend before I can start again. I have Varget and IMR 4350 and that will work fine in the 6.5 Creedmoor and 308. IMR 4350 will work in my 280 and 6.5-06. Next I need to order bullets for the 280 and 308.
I will not save money by reloading, just shoot more!

Re: Lee hand press
I had one back in my "when It all goes down" days. I didn't like it but can't remember why. My reloading days are about over.
Re: Lee hand press
I forgot how much I enjoyed reloading. The Lee pilot trimmer post came in the mail at noon. Though I was preparing to leave for the weekend, I could help myself. I trimmed and de-bured 75 pieces of brass for the 6.5-06 while sitting in the comfort of my recliner. When I get home Sunday I'll prime it and on Monday morning I'll start the load work-up for it and the 6.5 Creedmoor. Alas, all is not good, I spent over an hour scouring the internet for 140 gr 7mm Sierra Game King bullets, NONE! ANYWHERE! This sucks, I need ammo for my 280.

Ammoseek.com is pretty good for finding ammo and components. If something is available by anyone, it will usually show up there and it might save you some time. There's a lot of obscure little shops listed that most folks don't know about.Freezer wrote: ↑Fri Oct 13, 2023 6:49 pm I forgot how much I enjoyed reloading.
