A friend of a friend is helping move some deer on a game ranch, and snapped a pic of this guy in a breeding pen:

Best yote hunt yet! 4 Stands. We saw 10. Called in 9. Shot 6.
6 of them were in one band and we shot 3 out of that band!
Ran my new FoxPro X24 tonight. Furthest shot was 260 yards.
Successful calls were “Adult Cottontail”, “Eastern Cottontail”, “Lightning Jack”.
.308 Win w/ 110gr V-Max Pulsar Thermion 2 XP-50 Pro and my buddy used a .243 AI w/ 70gr V-Max & AGM Adder.

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
So, does the call bring them in close or does it just make them stop when they are spotted?

Daughter and her boyfriend. The boy had never shot a deer before. They hunted together, which bummed ole dad out. But, she did everything perfectly as a guide. So that makes me pretty damn proud. He shot his, then hers made the mistake of hanging around after the shot. His was probably 100 yards, hers 170. Both perfect shots.

Re: Hunting Pictures Thread
It brought them in.
The first and second yote, we just set up in an open field and called. They came out of the brush. The third yote, we saw in a huge field with another on the far side. The one in the middle came from a good ways and got shot.
The last stand we made, we’d seen the pack of 6 mousing around in a field. We stalked closer and started calling. At first they showed no interest. At one point, they sat down and started singing. We thought the gig was up. Then, they got up and beelined it for the call and we got 3 of them.

While they were gutting them,(they. I don’t gut their deer. I supervise) she was telling the boy some things, he was a little concerned he made a bad shot. She explained stuff the way I had explained to her like EXACTLY the same way. Man it was soooooooo satisfying to point that out.Zee wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 4:47 pmProud of her!CPJ 2.0 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2023 4:23 pm Daughter and her boyfriend. His POI was perfect. The dangle angle….was NOT. It was quartering to, pretty hard. Which meant the NBT got to get more guts.

@japhy
Stay away from Missouri. It’s a horribly dangerous place to hunt.
