Browning T bolt…

Post by Elk Creek »

A few weeks ago I happened to stumble on a grail gun, and it lived up to the HOLY part! I found my T bolt! Earlier that day Sako and I were shooting and we do lunch at a local Mexican outfit. As conversations always drift towards guns I said “the next T bolt I find I’m buying!” All this after lusting after Sako’s maple t bolt. Any way we stopped by the gun shop after lunch and there it was on the rack a Maple T bolt in 22lr! I grabbed it and walked to the front in one motion. An employee said “there is another one upstairs if you want to look at that wood too.” The one I was looking at had AAAA MAPLE, how could it be better? It was. After an agonizing couple weeks here it is! My holy grail T bolt in all its maple goodness!

Thanks! Mud be damned I’m shooting it tomorrow! It will freeze tonight so the road will be hard in the morning.

Now I always thought the wood on mine was pretty nice but the figure in the one Andy got puts mine to shame.

That is fine wood.
Sako any chance that store would let you switch stocks ?
Or buy it outright and still come out ahead.

Just thoughts from a total wood junkie.

Wouldn't bother even if it was possible. I still am very happy with mine, it's just more straight grain than the fiddle back Andy got and I'm happy for him. At least now I know mine won't mysteriously disappear at the range

Sako’s rifle was in real danger of disappearing at the range! It’s only because he kept it dummy corded to the bench that it didn’t! The reason I “had” to have one!
