I’ve seen what a bunch of parties do to a country. It’s ugly and doesn’t work. Every third world poop has a bunch of political parties, every one with their own agenda.
Many countries end up with winning candidates that get 20% of the popular vote and can not get anything accomplished because 8 out of 10 people hate the “leader” in place and won’t support them…
The funny part is everyone bitches about the candidates in the US but they never call or write the party about their platform or candidate selections. Maybe, try to work to fix the party that most closely aligns with your belief system and THEN you are entitled to complain if they stay broken. But sitting around complaining and staring at an overflowing toilet without at least trying to plunge it accomplishes nothing.

Show me the third party that has any power at any level to make any damn difference. I'll wait.
You dont become CEO if you arent good enough to be hired into the mail room.
I think you are missing my main point.
My point is that people are **** retarded if they think one of the established parties are going to set the world on fire. (Bad example, they both have actually done that. Yay tax dollars to current wars!)
People buy hats and shirts and bumper stickers supporting politician _____. “He’s my hero, he will show the other side!”

So what do you do when they DONT change the candidates or platforms?
Oh yeah. Vote for the lesser of two evils anyway. And all parties know this. Which is why they have zero motivation to change.

This has been done ad nauseum and it's why we are in the predicament that we are in. Voting for the guy that's gonna stick it to the other party and not truly support the people is absolutely insane. We keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Noth the R & D have failed but they're being kept on life support by a generation of people that are terrified of trying something different. I hate to "blame it on the boomers," but I'm having a hard time because I see who keeps voting party lines and telling 3rd party voters that they're throwing their vote away.

Millennials are the largest percentage of the US Population now, not boomers

That number isn’t as relevant as the number of each generation that participates in elections.
What that number is, I don’t know.

This confuses me. It appears that the majority of voters are boomers, contrary to what is said at the top of it.

Not to mention the amount of millennials that will vote what their parents do, so add that to the boomer votes also. Hell, that's what I did and I'm a millennial.

That’s the most played song of every hit parade since mankind acquired self awareness. Every human blames previous generations for the problems of today. It’s an easy reason to do nothing.
Please raise your hand if you have ever contacted your party headquarters and asked to have a conversation with someone, sent a letter, email…. I’ll even take contacted your representative or senator on any issues that mattered to you.
Anyone, anyone? Buhler?!?!?
The reason “it makes no difference” is that everyone is too lazy to do it so they feel like everything they do has no consequences.

I have several times. The hat wearing congress woman down south did not respond. Marco Rubio sent a form letter.
Since moving to the Panhandle Matt Gaetz has responded twice and sent an invite to a town hall meeting. The media attempts to make him look like a big mouth idiot. He is not at all like the media portrays him

I’ve gotten the typical canned email responses. Matter of fact that’s all I’ve ever gotten.
Save for one where I had the “audacity to use profanity communicating with an elected official”.
I said damn.

Oh, the huge manatee!
Anyway, he said he wouldn’t want a vote anyway from someone who uses foul language.
Of course I replied telling him to fudge himself.

Whoa, I do not have a problem with third parties. Most of their platforms I agree with. Voting, again, lesser of two evils thing. Losing to the greater evil is a bad thing.
It doesnt matter. A libertarian candidate has enough wackjobs who have smoked so much dope that you have to explain things 4 times before it dawns on them supporting the candidate AND NOT ENOUGH REGULAR CITIZENS. The wackjobs chase voters away because they are the ones who get put up as the backers that they are, like, dude..... They need to win Dogcatcher, and School board to prove to the vast majority of people that they are not just another wackjob.
Dont like it? Dont want to do the work to build the party? Then understand that there will never be a third party candidate for pres that has a snowballs chance of winning.
The Republican party was founded in 1854. The country was not formed with a Republican party. It was a coalition because of the expansion of slave states in the west. They gained supporters, which third parties these days seem to not think is important.

I contact mine regularly, a lot of canned responses, less canned if I have given them money, especially on the state level

When I contact them online, I assume my reaction is AI'ed and a check is put in a "for" or "against" box.

Our representatives no longer represent us and haven't in a long time. I will go out on a limb here and say that not only are our voices unheard and ignored but so are our votes. I've lost complete faith in a good future outcome of this country unless the whole system is rebooted. Maybe eventually everyone will have enough.
