The walnut shell media I use is lizard bedding from the pet store. Its less than 25% the cost of the walnut tumbling media you can get from the big names. Add some Nu Finish to the walnut shells and call it good. It may or may not be better than the commercially available tumbling media, but the cost savings makes whatever reduced usable life it may have acceptable. I tried corn cob media first, but it kept getting stuck in cases.
