Dental floss is handy what for smearing glue and E Poxy in your crack.

Wood glue may be the weapon of choice then. Like Japhy, I've used a lot of Titebond for a lot of things, and the generous work time is nice, as is the ability to clean up the squeeze out with a wet rag. If you can wedge open the crack enough that you can use a finger to squeegee glue in from the barrel channel side until it starts to flow out the bottom, you'll be set to clamp the beejeezus out of it.

It looks like a nice piece of walnut, & I've seen successful salvage ops on far worse.
