Should have done ribs, but went to my buddy’s to shoot a bit and he was butchering chickens. So, I got a free fresh chicken. Like, FRESH.

Got 3 Porterhouse steaks and a Filet Mignon (the wife prefers those) seasoned and ready for the grill. Will have a nice supper and then hang by the pool at my daughter’s house and watch the fireworks over Las Vegas while smoking a fine cigar.
Happy 4th guys!

Right? It's the cheapest part of the chicken. Even the custom butcher on the way home from work has it for $1.49/lb

Oldest stepsons birthday

. Paid a kings ransom for two 3"+ thick Tomahawk ribeyes. They were very good. IMHO not worth the ^ price over a regular ribeye though.....
Also had baked potatoes, homemade mac&cheese, and

on the cob.

I have the stuff, I have not done it yet, helped my cousin one time awhile ago, I still need the co2 and hoses , connections, and a tap. Cousin has been doing it for awhile, he made it to the second to the last round of San Adams home brew contest a few years ago. It was the first time he made hard cider on this trip, sweet and tart like Angry Orchard

Red Jalpenos!!
Let the pepper crop go what I thought was too long. The I got surprised after trying jalapeños that had fully ripened and turned red. I’ve not seen them in stores. The flavor is great a little sweet, the heat seems to me to be about the same.

Red jalapenos are hard to find. But, they're smoked and dried to make chipotles, and are the pepper used to make Siracha.
I don't harvest mine when they're green, but let them get nice and red.

True Tabasco sauce is made with tabasco peppers. Tabasco makes other types of sauces with other peppers, but the classic stuff is salted, fermented tabasco peppers. Some other Louisiana pepper sauces are made with cayenne peppers.
