Quit arguing dude. You don’t know poop. Forgotten Weapons knows WAY more than you. Like, a million times more.

Most of my patrols were on foot; first in the rice paddies during rainy season where armored patrols couldn't go, and then in the jungle where it was so thick as to reduce vision for a track as to maybe 10 yards. Armored vehicles were restricted to roads where I was in III Corps. Up north in II and I corps, armored vehicles were in more use.

As for Forgotten Weapons, Ian had an actual XM 7 rifle and I trust his report. I mean, why would he lie? Look it up. He liked the weapon with all the resources it had.

Virtually all of the equipment that groundpounders carry weights less now from socks, to MRE's, to entrenching tools so the total load out has not increased so any slight increase, even if it exists, is insignificant.

My experience toting stuff in tactical situations is limited to what I carried before MREs. I figure with ammo and all, grenades and a few C rations, I was humping maybe 45-50 pounds. That was when I was with Recon we traveled light; in a line company with flack vests and helmets it was close to 60 pounds.
