I just did this. Another thermal.

I blame it on the fact that I entertain a lot of folks. Friends and strangers come to hang out and hunt. Predators and pigs. I try to give them a good time and have fun in the process. Satisfaction is my goal.
So, I “needed” another thermal to go along with my other thermals and NV.
More compact but still 640 resolution. Which, by the way, is about the only true option. Once you compare 640 to everything else……you will be ruined.

Plan is to make this permanent on one of my ARs that sees high usage. Good for pigs and yotes. My Thermion 2 will bounce between my short .308 Win and .243 Win. Both can dual purpose predators and or pigs. But, I like options. Should be at the house in a couple days.

I would never use a thermal for grouping. Too difficult to be consistent, it that makes sense. You are aiming with a reticle on a tv screen. Nothing like an optical device.

I zero on a warm target and call it good. Never shoot for groups. Just a zero.

Yep. You did well.
Furthest shot I’ve taken with it has been 352 on a pig. I didn’t know the distance at the time. Just held over his back and dropped him. Then I ranged it. Ha! He had been running away and stopped at the edge of the field.

Sometimes, it’s not about being the most accurate shot on a hog. As long as it’s anchored, you can still call rodeo and finish it with a knife. More fun that way.
