Weekend 80 and 50 shot

Post by Varmintmist »

matches went pretty good.

Felt great in the 80 shot, ( 2 sighters 20 for record) did 96-5x and 91-2x standing... For me thats good real good. Cleaned 200 rapid fire sitting (2 sighters then 10 in 60 seconds with a reload x2) 100-6x and 100-5x, dropped 2 in rapid fire prone at (2 sighters then 10 in 70 seconds with a reload x2) 300 yards 100-6x and 98-5x, was OK at the 600 yard line (2sighters then 20 for record in 20 min) with a 95-1x and 96-1x, could not find a position.
Total was 776-32X. I think that was the highest X count I have ever shot. I was the overall winner of the match.

Sun was an EIC for points, however you need at a min of 6 non distinguished shooters to get a 6 point leg. We had 5. I was second so I wouldnt have got the leg anyway. Again a 96 standing (10 shots in 10 min) with 2x this time happy happy joy joy. Sitting (from standing in 60 seconds 10 rounds with reload) I got slappy and shot a 96-4x. Made a bad wind call, twice, in rapid prone (from standing 10 with reload in 70 seconds) for a 94-2x with an X ring tall group, strung out to the right. 600 yds (20 for record in 20 min) was better. 98-3x and 97-6x. bad trigger for an 8 in the first string, lost position for an 8 in the second, then stared at the reticle to long and sent a 9 just off the 10 ring high.

When you are holding hard and staring, along with fatigue, eye strain, and dehydration, the round target can start to look egg shaped. When that happens you can toss high or low.

It’s pretty cool to see your progress/improvement 👍

It seems retirement kicked the tires and lit the fires. I am hitting 96-97% pretty consistently with a little learning and application (SEE Mrs Koptcho? I can apply myself) . If I dont do dumb I should leg out this year.
