Don’t ever shoot a custom action. Unless you want to buy one. I knew better. But did it anyway. Groups were meh, but it was also some random crap I had on the shelf. I’ve got new brass and bullets, but needed to celebrate F U “king” George day and didn’t have time to load.

It’s a Zermatt Origin action in an Aero Solus chassis. Trigger tech primary trigger, 1.5-ish pounds. I would prefer lighter, but the way This One feels makes the extra weight not an issue. And now I can be a real rifleman because I don’t shoot a 2 ounce trigger.

Shilen 1-8 twist 223 barrel. Vortex scope. And of course a suppressor because unsuppressed guns are gay.

The action is a 700 footprint, with savage barrel
Threads and a savage style bolt head. You can swap heads at will. Modified controlled round feed, with a mechanical ejector. You ran run the bolt like you own it and fling brass away from you, or open it gently, and it will fall in a neat pile right beside your rifle.

Having shot red headed satans fancy rifles a couple years ago, I caught the bug. Questions asked, research done. Then this year I was able to fondle the Aero Solus action, and the Zermatt action, side by each. Originally went with the Aero. But it was out of stock with no arrival in sight. Good thing I switched, Aero is basically an unknown at this point. Canceled that order and went with the Zermatt. Still took a couple months to get in stock.

The solus chassis was a no brainer, the resident dwarf shrub has several and likes them. As did I. Trigger tech was a no brainer also.

Just go ahead and get the action purchased. It takes a bit. Redhawk is a GREAT company to work with. Canceled my Solus action with no problems, helped with questions etc.

OR a over the counter trued by someone who knows what hes doing. You never knew how much a 700 sucks until you do.

I can also take the stock off and then you can shoot it.

Out of curiosity, what does he charge to un-fornicate a factory 700?

Could find out. Had him do one for me on the 6.5 Skan but there were a LOT of other things involved. From what he said at the start Rem had some good and some not so good. The not so good were spendy. Its nice.
I know him and his work so when I went to build, I didnt ask.
