If the safe was in the warrant, then like Jerry Garcia said “ if you’ve got a warrant, I guess you’re gonna come in.”

But, does that give the safe maker the right to give the fuzz the backdoor combo?

It’s technically NOT they’re safe since the customer bought it.

From what I've been able to read, they feds had a warrant, but then they took that too Liberty and asked if they Liberty could give them the pass code. The warrant wasn't with Liberty, just Liberty obliged. So that creates a question: should Liberty give out the passcodes without being directly asked through warrant? I dunno.

A lot of people are panicking because their safe's "not secure if Liberty has a backdoor passcode." But, if they lose their combination or something goes bad, guess what they'll want Liberty to provide?

So after getting bud lighted, Liberty changed the policy. Now they will require a subpoena to give combos to LEOs. And you can purge your own records.

If the feds have a warrant, they ARE going to get in. The only real question is how much destruction is required from them to get what they want.

Safe = steel box. It's not some indestructible, impenetrable, forcefield. There are plenty of videos, on "the 'tube", showing safes being forced open.

That's nice. That doesn't give Liberty the right to bend over on behalf of the customer. If the suspect wants to open the safe for them/give them the combo, that's on him. Its not Liberty's call to be a "statist whore" as one website called it.

Liberty announced a new policy. You can have your code expunged from their records upon request. If the FBI or any other agency gets a warrant they will comply, but they can't give what they no longer have.

So other than hiring a diversity and inclusion person, what have they done to make the right wing nut jobs go crazy? I’m guessing……not a god damned thing. Because the D/I guy that works for CFA ain’t gonna hire Dylan Mulvaney for a promotion. But hey. You never know.

Side note, their chicken sammich is the SINGLE MOST overrated food item in the USA.

The Chick-Fil-A DEI person is there so they can better accommodate those with various disabilities and so they can better reach various ethnic groups. Both for customer and employees. Makes a lot of sense from a recruiting, marketing, and growth perspective.

It also encourages employees to be kind to all customers. Even men in dresses who wear makeup.

But the Faceboomers haven't bothered to look into that, because they've been told DEI is bad, nevermind what it may actually cover.

Oh, and CPJ is right. Their chicken is edible, but the only thinh it beats is KFC and the burger joints' "chicken nuggets."
