Ruger MKII Trigger Job

Post by Japhy »

Just ordered a new Voquartsen trigger kit for the Ruger
After the Holosun red dot and a new trigger it should rock and roll. Probably get some new grips soon I need something wider
Tried one at the range last week and had to have it!

Sometimes the trigger on my MKII Slabside doesn't reset. I need to get that fixed. It might just be from using the original Blue Wonder lube we got back on board..... IDK 4? It was known to gum up.

I need to give it a detail clean and go from there. Only been putting it off for 10 years or so.

I just stoned the original parts and it gave great results.

I’ve been thinking about doing that with mine. I’m interested to hear how it works for you.

I would second that idea. I clean the lower with a shot of clp and then blow the junk out with compressed air. That’s an outdoor job! If you have an ultrasonic cleaner that will work better.

One of the advantages of the kit is the trigger take up and over travel can be adjusted. Some models of Ruger MK have adjustments. Mine does not. A small amount take up may be needed to get a consistent reset.

I’m glad I scored two pre-lawyer Mark 1s. No need to ever replace triggers on those 😎

I bought my dad a 6” MKI and made a holster for him more than a few years back. Some of the tooling is worn smooth if that tells you how much dad carries it!
