Re: Yo Bigslug. Or anyone else. 870 question.

Given that they have similar Police Magnums for like $80 more, it may be worth paying the extra coin.

Help Me Find a 1911 For Engraving

A close friend is finally tying the knot next year, and as his groomsmen we are all pooling some money together to take him snowboarding, and gift him a 1911. The handgun will be lightly laser engraved, with some variant of name and momentos of his life thus far. Since this isn't fancy, hand done sc...

Re: Is It ECONOMICAL To Reload Anymore?

"It depends." For my bulk ammo, 9mm and .223 fodder, it is not worth my time, even if some money is saved. I'll even go a step further and say for my low volume hunting ammo where I've found a suitable factory load, it isn't worth it. For match grade ammo or specialty hunting ammo, it is s...

Re: Friends around a campfire…. Snowy Mountains high!

You know it's a great group when the snow starts working its way towards you, everyone just kind of stares at it and grunts, and goes back to the fire without saying a word... and it was an absolute blast! That was funny! Secretly Tom and I had our “we have to pull the plug if it gets too deep. We ...

Re: No Good Deal Goes Unpunished (The 2011 Koolaid)

Not keeping abreast of the gamer side of things, what's currently trendy? I'm guessing it's comped guns, as we're starting to see them in the duty market too. Kinda hard for me to wrap my brain around the notion of a brake on a full size 9mm, but then, I never was one of the cool kids. :oops...

Re: No Good Deal Goes Unpunished (The 2011 Koolaid)

I've got about 500 rounds through the gun now, and it's definitely a soft shooter. Not one single malfunction with 7 different mags, both OEM and MBX, so also good. I won't get it on a timer until later this summer, so we shall see. I have a feeling that the XL in particular outlived its niche since...

Re: No Good Deal Goes Unpunished (The 2011 Koolaid)

Got out to the range today with the best testing squad within 250 miles of the Rockies... Rang out roughly 200ish rounds through the Staccato, plus quite a few other great guns today! The Staccato ran flawlessly with the OEM magazine and the 4 MBX's it came with in the deal. Handling was what you wo...

If it was in the same condition of cleanliness as the gun, I'm good... in the words of Charon in one of the Jon Wick movies when he asks about a cleaning service: "I'm afraid no one is THAT good."

No Good Deal Goes Unpunished (The 2011 Koolaid)

Lately I’ve been idly searching for a project pistol to monkey with on the days that USPSA practice isn’t as captivating as it should be. Lately there’s been a proliferation of 2011’s on the market, and that platform has caught my interest a bit as a potential subject for the higher level tinkerer. ...

Re: Finally might have a viable battery type

If I were in a more permanent living situation, with the capability of charging at home, I would probably be driving one of the more economical EVs right now instead of the Tacoma as a DD. As it sits, once charging at home isn't in the equation, for me the math doesn't math. Flipside, however, I wil...

Re: Bullet Point Mounting Solutions - Review

Yep, different needs for different applications. Off roading is a bit less stress-inducing than a motorcycle, but your phone ejecting itself from its mount is a legit safety issue. Side note, DO NOT mount a modern phone to your handlebars on a motorcycle. The vibration will, best case, trash the cam...

Great looking new ride! They're not for everyone, but for the target niche the Gladiator is a great enthusiast's vehicle, especially the Mojave. Had I not found such a good deal on my Taco a Mojave was pretty high on the list of considerations.
