November 5th is rapidly approaching. Make a huge note of realizing that everyone is voting for much more than just president, such as congress critters and dog catcher. For those with asshat friends who believe they are too intelligent to waste their time voting, impress upon them how stupid they actually are...

Tossed my ballot in the collection box a few days ago. I'm less interested in the national election, especially in my county, but there's some state measures on the ballot around here that I feel pretty strongly about.

Absentee voting without an official excuse opens tomorrow. Think I’ll give that a go. I ain’t standing in line, nor do I have time to. “If you don’t have time blah blah blah “. Save it.

I’ll vote for my representatives ,vote in favor of putting the thing we don’t discuss back on the menu here, mainly because the right wing nut jobs didn’t appreciate the people and their will in getting enough signatures to overturn their new law.
Not sure who to write in for POTUS. Is Deez Nutz running again this year?

Everyone in my family already voted but SIL and I decided to go listen to JD locally. Funny how much sense he can make without a teleprompter. He’s a great speaker. My SIL is a Purple Heart Veteran so one of the security guys hooked us up with seats 3 rows from the stage and right behind Capt. Sam Brown. Who was nice enough to do a selfie with my wife and I when we went to the BIG Trump Rally a few weeks back. Republicans, for the FIRST time are running ahead in early voting here!

Ballot dropped off at the registrar's office this morning.

Voting in California: it gives you the same warm sensation one gets right after having attempted to piss up a flagpole.

I believe we should stand on Ceremony. . . while our friends handcuff the sanctimonious little prick and take him away.

First time I ever voted early. Ever since I turned 18, I have voted on Election Day. But this time, there were lots of reports locally of people magically being “de-registered”, registration moved to a county hours away, and people being told ‘you voted already’…. So I decided to go early and give me a few days to straighten out any shenanigans

Oh, and my polling location was out of English ‘I voted’ stickers.

I Had an epiphany today. I really don't care which one is elected to start driving the final nails. I just want the commercials to stop. Whatever happens at least there is that.

Come Wednesday we will have a 30 day respite from political ads. Because, midterms.

The ads may stop, but whining from the losing side won’t.
I predict a big kerfuffle after this one is in the books.

The nice thing about having political apathy…. is that it doesn’t change how I’m gonna go about my day to day life.

I’ll check the boxes I want checked, and wake up the next day in the exact same situation I was in before I pulled that lever.

Cast your votes, then move the fudge along with your life. It’s NOT the most important election in history, well, at least no more than it’s been the most important election in history since that phrase was first uttered before anyone here was born….
“BUT ITS DIFFERENT THIS TIME!” Sure it is….just like last time. (Meet the new boss, same as the old boss)

Or let Sean Hannity et al. tell you why you should be yelling at the clouds today. Stare endlessly at whatever news source you chose (what Google chose for you) not realizing you’re the reason they are in business.

Then say people who think for themselves and don’t believe and or trust any news source who profit from keeping your face glued to the TV don’t get it.

Repeat during each election cycle.

It will still be 30 glorious days.

I agree with the coming dust up.

Funny thing is both sides are ready to cry foul and go to the courts, and both sides are ready to call the other an election denier and enemy of democracy. . Meanwhile the cattle wait around to be herded one way or the other.

AZ is predicting it could take up to 13 days before we're tallied.

I remember when it was an issue that the East Coast was broadcast in real time and there were concerns it would affect how the west coast voted! But we knew the winner the next day.

What progress!

Lines were long today, except at my place at the time I went. Walked right in with no wait. Didnt get to go early voting, so this was a plus.
Voted for freedoms to make choices in my state, no new taxes for anyone or anything, specifically police and fireman pensions (fudge the city, they can cut the budget elsewhere to pay the difference)
and got to tick the box for the libertarian potus candidate. Dont know who he/she/it is, but I damn sure wasn’t voting for orange man.
But relax, old Donny Blumpkin didn’t need my vote to win Missouri.

I drove over to my polling place @ 10am, figured to be after the "before work" crowd. There was a line of ~1/4 mile standing outside in the rain, and about that much of a line inside. I knew AL was going to go R anyway, so I just came home and drank more coffee.

There were only 4 contested elections I could have voted for anyway. Prez, which, BTW has already been called with Trump having a 2 to 1 lead, here.

House of Rep District 7, which is a gerrymandered minority majority district. This is the first time I ever remember the dem having any competition. The dem's winning by over 2 to 1
and 2 county elections I couldn't care less about.

Hopefully, Alabama will get onboard with the other 47 states that allow some sort of "no excuse" early voting. Currently you have to attest to the reason why you need an absentee ballot

We have the no excuse early voting now. I think it’s like 3 weeks early with an excuse, then two weeks early for the no excuse. One way or the other you get an extra week for the excuse.
Which, I can attest to any damn thing I want. Plans change, etc.

I've done the absentee thing a few times, and this state makes it as big of a PITA as they can
