Don’t think you can get AR bottom metal for a 700 footprint.
AI, yes.
But, it’s gonna be a chassis gun, so the “bottom Metal” is built in.
Good point, I wasn’t thinking built in mag well already a part of the chassis. So AI is basically it?
Yes.
AR mag fed bolt guns are limited to Ruger, or Mossberg off the top of my head. The cartridge doesn’t stick up enough on an AR mag for the bolt to snag it. Mossberg has a folding dingus on the bolt bottom to catch it, (hacky) Ruger has a machined in area on the bolt that grabs it. (Friggin genius)
So while not available as AR mags, the AI pattern mags are available and better quality and less money than the typical garbage magazines that come stock with most bolt guns.

I don’t think that I would call $1000 action “off the shelf”.
You need to look at what the match rifle guys are running. However he would need a detachable mag
Well, I’m from Missouri. Sho-Me.
Not my rabbit hole. The ones I know that shoot it well use custom and Tubb guns. That one will work if it has a short throw and runs off the thumb open and closed like greased cat poop across a hot buttered griddle.

Didn't say it was a perfect option, just that it is one.
